I have reason to believe that the domain name ThreadsDev.com will no longer work next week.
I wish to continue to make this great UBB.Threads resource available to everyone still using UBB.Threads. It's an excellent resource and contains thousands of hacks, code snippits and modifications... and many users still rely on it for support.
So Effective Immediately we have changed our URL to ThreadsDev.NET.
It is imperative that you update your bookmarks so you can continue to find us at the new ThreadsDev.NET domain name.
Thanks!

Looks like Threadsdev.com has not been renewed by the current domain owner and will expire next week... Therefore whoever gets that domain could possibly use it to there own good to the detriment of these users here.
Just guessing but whois says it expires on the 16th.

Sounds like someone 'gave up'...which is sad considering this is such a great community here. Quiet lately, but still the same faces for the last number of years.
Course this ties directly to Infopop's silence on their new product.

They might as well have given it up, after all Fusion has been out for a month and a half. What's the point? My bet, there will be no new product, if there is it won't have enough users to sustain it. (B) No users = no mods or tweaks. After talking to one of the owners of Infopop on the phone & hearing his BS I converted as quick as I could. Threads was very much a dying breed anyway except for those who had mods so extensive as to suit all their needs or die hard long-time users like me, the numbers have dwindled dramatically in the last few years. While Infopop sat on their hands everything was going VB by at least 99 to 1, I just didn't care for VB... then came Fusion so why bother with VB, now I have more features, more security by 110% and for a new program some mods are already rolling. I really think Infopop gave up on UBBT 2 or 3 years ago (I mean I believe they did just that, acknowledged vBulletin had beaten them badly and they ether didn't have a plan or the skills or maybe the will to catch up) and just didn't bother to mention it. And I'm not a newbie here but for some reason the change to dot-net says my old username doesn't have an e-mail for "forgot password) and my old password doesn't work so I'll be a newbie at the new address.

Interesting, all but maybe one poster here is not a FusionBB user. That should say something about the status of Threads. Eventually I think the need for this site will probably wither away as people migrate away from Threads to some other product, and I doubt it will be Groupee's so called "new" product.

Allen left voluntarily a couple of months agao. Navaho was an infopopper who hadn't been here since January. He really only had admin access because Infopop was our webhost. We are no longer hosted by Infopop, we're hosted at my hosting company, www.vertexhost.com Scream hasn't been here since March.
I'd love for any of them to want to become active in this community again. They'd all be welcome. Sadly things are really dying down here. I'm happy to make it available as a resource for thos who continue to run Threads, or who decide to stick with it going forward.

I imagine this means Josh purchased a Threads license. That would indicate a real dedication to the cause we have here. My hat is off to Josh.

Josh (to my knowledge) has a few Threads licenses.
For that matter...I 'just' migrated my board over to FusionBB from Threads...but I still ALSO retain 2 other Threads licenses for other sites that have no desire to change anything. Only my main site has been upgraded.
So many of us will still be active in both communities.

Time for me to change. This weekend we have a meeting and I guess it will be FusionBB for me in the future. It's not the fine way how Infopop kick their loyal customers.
I will hold my UBBt license but will do no more hacking. ThreadsDev was always a great help for me and I like to say thank you for this.

Well, add one more to the list of Threads deserters: I migrated my site to FusionBB over the weekend.
I've notice a big drop in bandwidth use since going to FusionBB with Zlib compression enabled, and I had Zlib compression enabled with Threads. So it's possible that Zlib compression is broken in UBB Threads from about version 5.1.x -check your web logs...

That's my suspicion too.
Infopop has been totally unprofessional over the past months.
What's worse is that they act like the German Gestapo. I recently make a post along the lines of "I know that there will be no dates given, but can someone at least verify that the new product WILL come out and that the project hasn't been abandoned?" Guess what happened? Post/thread ERASED. I think that says it all...
Very unprofessional and downright rude way to treat your customer, Infopop. Shameful.

Lemme just add that we should also take into account Classic users.
Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Classic was a more popular product in terms of users. Hence the number of users abandoned by Infopop can be quite considerable (I'm assuming that development in the Classic dept. has also been halted).

As soon as a decent Calendar is created I plan to move my sites over also and not renewing any of my licenses anymore. I can not belive how they (Groupee/infopop) have abandoned us I am glad that I did not buy any lifetime licenses 6 years ago since it would not have paid for itself and I would have lost about 250 bucks. You can guarantee that I will never buy anything from them again nor would I recommend them to anyone in fact they will have nothing but bad publicity from my sites.

Just don't state your frustration on their support site or your account will be deleted as will all your posts. I have first hand experience of that. Still haven't figured out how they managed to delete my Groupee login on the site I have a license for, but left if for all the rest of their sites, such as their Dev site, their Classic site, etc.
