OK, let's get back to UBB.Threads.
We've certainly had our share of drama over the last few days, and I guess it's time to move all that behind us. As long as there are UBB.Threads users who wish to visit this site, then it will remain.
If you'd prefer to visit the official version, which has been merged with UBBDev.com the forum can be found here.
I've been as guilty as Allen about airing all our dirty laundry, but it seems it will not be resolved. So I'm prepared to move on.
Let's continue to use this site to support the existing UBB.Threads users. Many of them are probably feeling very shell shocked by all that's happened the last 6 months.
Let's not use this site to promote other products. Using something else or mentioning it won't get you banned, but this is the place to support UBB.Threads users. That should be our focus. Many users can't or don't want to switch. UBB.Threads is a fine product and many plan to continue running it in the future.
And let's not use this site to badmouth Infopop/Groupee. They are good folks doing their jobs and badmouthing them won't do UBB.Threads users any good. They are definately experiencing some growing pains, but the best way for us to help the end users is to try to help them with thier issues.
Our staff has gotten a bit light, but I've asked a few of our supportive/helpful/active members if they'd like to take on a staff role. If I've missed anyone who feels that they could help support people here, please contact me via PM.
Thanks Everyone!

as an outsider just watching the drama unfold, its getting very confusing to follow up on real reason we're all here -- for ubb THREADS support.
It may just be time to put up a link on Threadsdev to forward over to FussionBB with a notice stating that "because of unforeseen and much unwanted drama that has been created over the past several months, we feel that it is best to move with innovation rather than looking to the past."
If "others" want to manage whatever data (to my viewpoint) has been stolen from threadsdev, let them do it -- this drama isn't making your life any easier. Plus you have already created a new project with a much brighter future that has drawn the attention of several positive supporters to it.
After seeing my account, posts and my replies which were created for use on Threadsdev ONLY, now appearing on a completely different website, obviously owned by a different source (and without my consent, or the consent of it's previous owners), that the data had been stolen.
Josh, I am proud that you are staying your grounds here and are still working hard to support your loyal membership base, but at this point in which everything has been made extremely confusing to us, it may be best to take all that has happened in the past and leave it there -- move on to your new projects.
I guarantee that you will be much happier by just moving on. Let those who work hard to make life rough for you, know that they will no longer waste any more of your time -- for you have grown wiser and don't care to play "their" game any longer.
I write this out of my own recent experience with message forum drama ...and I am much happier now.

ubbdev is pretty much controlled by Groupee, right? I see Charles, etc are all Moderators or admins over there...so really I have VERY LOW expectations from anyone that allows them to moderate.
I mean hey...they have all been SO helpful at UBBCentral.

UBBCentral has become a joke. No replies except for bot-like answers from guru JC who is about as helpful as a brick right now. No answers, no deadlines, no nothing in fact. They can't expect to be treated seriously when they treat their own customers this very way.
This site should be dedicated to Threads, but it should also show people that there are other ways forward which one can take. Nobody is stuck, nobody has been abandoned completely. FusionBB has grown to be the best alternative for Threads users and this site should promote that path of development. I don't think that sticking to Threads indefinitely is a solution that any serious user will contemplate - we all need to move forward sooner or later. FusionBB is the answer.
Just my two cents...

While FusionBB is certainly a viable alternative to threads, there are many people out there who are either not ready to abandon the many hacks they have either installed or had installed and really need and deserve a site for support. Some may not have the $$$ to invest in a new solution either, which makes this site all the more important to them. Personally, I don't think Fusion should be pushed all that much here, even though I run it myself. Not everyone wants to change. However, it is inexcusable what Groupee has done to their loyal customers and I doubt they will ever regain their following as far as a downloadable product goes after this episode has passed.
